Date: April 2010

Description: RESPC funded the installation of lighting motion sensors in the McColl Building at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. In an effort to improve energy efficiency in the Business School, a system of motion sensors, as well as LED lighting, were installed. This improves the interior design of a building known to be prestigious around the nation.

Allocation amount: $5,387.85

Benefits to students and UNC: The installation of the lighting motion sensors in the McColl Building at the Kenan-Flagler Business School serves primarily to conserve energy and reduce consumption within the building. Having a motion sensor system allows for lights to go off by themselves when there is no one in a particular room, thus, saving energy.
